Carbon Trust

SUSTaim's advice services are underpinned by membership of the Carbon Trust's consultant pool for the provision of Low Carbon Buildings Design Advice.

Carbon Trust helps businesses, governments and organisations around the world cut carbon and cost through expert advice, footprinting, and technology services.

CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant

SUSTaim is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers for the provision of LCC Building Design advice.

BREEAM - Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method

BREEAM is the longest established and most respected environmental assessment method and rating system for buildings in the world, with 200,000 certified BREEAM buildings and over a million registered assessments since the method was first launched in 1990.

SUSTaim is qualified to provide BREEAM design advice and assessment services across a range of building types. SUSTaim is also able to provide BREEAM Accredited Professional (AP) support.

Association of Carbon Professionals

SUSTaim staff were among the founding members of ACP, a professional body set up to support and develop a community of professionals who work with the aim of speeding the transition to a low carbon economy.

ACP advances the skills development of professionals working on climate change mitigation, carbon management or in carbon trading, and raises awareness of and supports the establishment of recognised professional accreditation standards relevant to carbon professionals.

Scottish Ecological Design Association

SUSTaim staff were among the founding members of SEDA which was formed in 1991. SEDA's primary aim is to share knowledge, skills, and experience of ecological design. SEDA is a network and links those seeking information and services with those providing them.

SEDA currently has around 400 members, predominantly in Scotland. Members include academics, architects, artists, builders, planners, students, ecologists, landscape designers, materials suppliers, woodworkers, and many more whose work or interest is concerned with design for a sustainable future.

Association of Environmentally Conscious Building

SUSTaim staff are members of AECB, a network of individuals and companies with a common aim of promoting sustainable building. It brings together builders, architects, designers, manufacturers, housing associations and local authorities, to develop, share and promote best practice in environmentally sustainable building. We pride ourselves on our independence, relevance and practicality.

The AECB develops and publishes standards for sustainable building, and delivers training, including on the use of the Passivhaus standard and design tool.
